Docking

Docking is defined as the joining of two things together; the act of docking http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/dock. The concept of docking supports the application or practice of cleaving found in Genesis 2:24 (KJV), (found also in Matthew 19:5 and Mark 10:7):

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Consequently, when men cleave to their wives in the spirit of Godliness, consistently and without fail, it reproduces the oneness of the Godhead found in Genesis 1:26-27 (KJV): And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness… So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Cleaving Defined: To cleave means to adhere closely to; to stick to; to cling to; or to remain faithful to (Dictionary.com). Consistent application to the command to cleave should produce such profound results that benefit both the kingdom of God (dominion, protection, resurrection power, power over the enemy, healing, and more) and your marriage (love, honor, effective communication, physical and emotional compatibility, and more) that it should reinforce itself in daily practice. Docking is one powerful form of cleaving.

How to Dock

There is no one correct way to cleave or to dock, but making physical contact is of primary importance. Because cleaving replicates the oneness of the Godhead, you can be sure that it is tied to a tremendous power supply or the anointing of God. As you think about docking, visualize an iPhone in a docking station. As the phone rests securely in the unit, the iPhone gets recharged. Just as the husband is commanded to cleave, he should initiate docking. To dock, the husband should approach his wife from behind, wrap his arms around her, and hold her snuggly yet gently.

He may also rest his head on her shoulder. The woman’s role is to submit to the docking or cleaving, and rest peaceably in the warmth and spiritual embrace of her husband’s arms, even perhaps leaning her head back onto his shoulder if possible. Docking can also be practiced from a sitting position with the wife sitting on her husband’s lap while he holds her.

A Way to Remember: As a daily reminder to be obedient to the command to cleave, every time you charge your cell phone, ask yourself “Have I spent time docking with my wife today?” You will eventually experience the power of God transfer from the Holy Spirit (the glue in your marriage) through you to your wife (from the man to the woman). The process helps to empower you to successfully complete your assignments in the Kingdom of God. Docking reinforces your love and commitment first to God then
